A record that i couldn't leave without is "Babylon Bus" by Bob Marley & The Wailers. I first put my hands on it when i was 8, or something like that, my dad got it, but I couldn't stop playing it. The late 70s and Disco, and of course the 80s had the biggest influence on my music taste. Duran Duran are my favorite 80s, i was more into the New Wave sound Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Bronski Beat, Cure, Simple Minds, Erasure and OMD. DJ-television was a show that kept me glued on TV for an hour a day, as the whole video dimension was kicking it. In the 90s it was the sound of World Music, listening religiously to Nick "The Night Flight" on Radio MonteCarlo. It was a fusion of Jazz and World Music that aired every night from 10pm until 2am, after which the station would broadcast BBC radio in English. Music always seemed to magically show up on my front door, and still does :-) In the new millennium I have been diving in the sound of Salsa and the traditional sounds that inspired many Salsa artists. Heavy on the percussion is my kind of sound. House music brings it all together as I always search for a sound that crosses borders.
